New Delhi: While MPs from Andhra Pradesh are up in arms against the Centre demanding Special Category Status, two parliamentarians Butta Renuka and Kothapalli Geetha are missing in action in the parliament.
Both the MPs who were elected on YSRCP tickets, had defected to the ruling TDP. While the TDP and YSRCP MPs were protesting with placards and sloganeering demanding that assurances made to the state be honoured, Butta Renuka and Geetha were nowhere to be seen.
Even after the MPs stormed into the Speaker’s well, the duo stuck to their seats during the entire session in Lok Sabha.
It appears that the woman MPs fear disqualification from the House as the YSRCP had already lodged a complaint with President Ram Nath Kovind and Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan following their defection to the TDP.
Butta Renuka had recently attended the meeting with parliament members that was chaired by TDP chief and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. The YSRCP leadership alleged that the MPs are are enacting a drama on the directions of Chandrababu.
