Guntur: A widow caused flutter here this morning after she climbed up a cell phone tower demanding an action against her in-laws who were allegedly harassing her.
Going into the details, Lalitha lost her husband a few months ago. She continued to stay in her in-laws house. However, her in-laws began harassing her over petty issues, she alleged. The local police too did not heed to her and never acted upon her complaint, she pointed out.
Lalitha’s efforts to meet District Collector, the SP and other officials to resolve her issue went in vain. Finally, she approached the Chief Minister’s Office in Amaravati seeking justice. She had to run from pillar to post, but no action was initiated.
On Saturday morning, she climbed up a cell phone tower and threatened to commit suicide if her problems were not resolved. The incident alerted the authorities, the local police assured to solve all her problems and was rescued her.
